šø Same lineup. Different years. A lifetime of growth (and a few inches).
Over the years, weāve snapped countless photos of the five kids āfacing the challenge.ā Back in the early days, they were a ragtag mix of teens and tweens, lined up with exaggerated bravado.
Adam was always the tallest, just edging out Madison, with Reese close behind. Meanwhile, Quinn and Daniel have spent years locked in a heated (and still unresolved) debate over who was actually the shortest at the time. It all depended on who bent their knees more⦠or who was savvy enough to stand on the uphill slope.
“The verdict is still out, though both are certain theyāre right.”

Fast forward a few years, and the argument is officially over. Some of us have been left behind in the height race (sorry, Madison and Reese), while others have shot up like redwoods. The boys now dominate in the height department, while the girls stand nearly neck-and-neck, though mentioning that out loud is a guaranteed way to start a spirited debate.
But of course, this isnāt really about height.
Itās about the journey.
These photos chart more than just inches gained, theyāre a record of challenges faced, adventures tackled, and the kind of personal growth that comes from years of shared experiences. Weāve watched these kids weather highs and lows, belly laughs and eye rolls, triumphs and tantrums (and yes, plenty of both).
We know thereās a future ahead where our role shifts from center stage to the sidelines. The next challenges wonāt be hikes or climbs, theyāll be college applications, first jobs, serious relationships, heartbreaks, and eventually, the creation of their own families.
“Weāll be there for as many of those milestones as theyāll let us, probably teary-eyed, hopefully helpful, and always rooting for them.”
Somewhere along the way, these five became more than just travel companions, they became siblings in spirit. Theyāve seen each other at their absolute best⦠and their most gloriously unfiltered worst. The snappy, grumpy, messy moments are just as real as the joyous ones, and weāre grateful for all of it. Itās a privilege to be trusted enough to see the genuine, every shade of it.
We hope that no matter where life takes them, theyāll keep coming back for the occasional family adventure, ones filled with wrong turns, laughter, questionable decisions, a few tears, and an endless supply of love.
Because while they sometimes get the tired, grumpy versions of us, theyāll always leave knowing one thing: Weāve got their backs. In every challenge. Always.
